Isabel and Ross

Bridal Bridesmaid Flowers Bouquets

Isabel and Ross were married in the stunning location of the Dreys in Kent, which is a stunning, woodland venue, with the ceremony outside in the woods with dappled sun shining through the trees creating a really ethereal setting.

We wanted the flowers to accentuate the location rather than compete with it, and so we added wild looking floral accents in the form of aisle meadows, and a statement arch to frame the couple for their vows.

The couple chose a traditional colour palette of neutrals and blushes, adding a modern twist of dark blackberry and burgundy accents, really contrasting wonderfully the light with the dark. Her bridal bouquet was filled with seasonal blooms, including dahlia, daucus, scabious, wax flower, achillea, spray rose, sanguisorba and aquilegia, to create a wild, bouncy style bouquet. We finished the bouquet with a loosely tied, flowing blush chiffon ribbon.   In keeping with the woodland setting, for the ceremony and reception floral arrangements, we wanted to create a natural, loose feel, as though the flowers had grown there naturally.

For the ceremony, we kept the floral decorations wild and natural, creating a floral aisle meadow in a colour gradient leading to the statement arch which would frame the couple throughout the ceremony. We used entirely reuseable mechanics with no floral foam, keeping our environmental impact to a minimum. We created a broken arch-style moongate which looked stunning in the dappled sunlight through the trees, creating a really romantic woodland scene. The couple's very sweet dog River was always on call to attempt to upstage the bride and groom! The bridesmaids had smaller versions of Isabel's bridal bouquet, with her "bridesman" having a floral adornment to his lapel.

The father of the bride has an incredible collection of bonsai trees, which the couple were keen to incorporate into the decor of the day as a lovely, personal touch. We used carpet moss to create the effect of a soft hill leading up to the magnificent bonsai tree in the centre of the table, with gold speckled tea-light votives nestled within the moss to create soft, ambient lighting.
